All sleighs will lead to Norfolk Island again this year for Christmas in July as top artists from Australia and New Zealand head to this popular short-haul holiday spot to join in presenting a week of great music, fun activities and traditional festive feasts.
The headline acts for this year’s program of concerts boast a terrific line-up. ARIA Hall of Famer with a stellar career spanning some 40 years, Glenn Shorrock, also best known as lead singer of the brilliant Little River Band, will be belting out many of his hits. Multi award-winning female vocalist, Suzanne Prentice who received an OBE for Services to Music, will also be performing favourites from her top selling albums. At the Legends of Rock Night, the audience will be entertained by Buddy Holly, Johnny O’Keefe and Elvis Presley with hit after hit ensuring this will be one great evening.
During the event, which runs from 22 – 31 July 2016, everyone will also be able to experience great adventures and dining on and around the island encompassing the beautiful natural landscape and water surrounds with swimming, fishing, snorkelling, kayaking, surfing, glass bottom boat tours, ocean trips to Phillip Island, and attractions including Fletcher’s Mutiny Cyclorama and a visit World Heritage listed Kingston and Arthurs Vale Historic Area, the oldest of 11 Australian penal colonies.
Another special highlight will be a visit to the home of Colleen McCullough, author of best-selling novels including ‘The Thorn Birds’, ‘Tim’ and ‘An Indecent Obsession’. Colleen called Norfolk Island home and her wish before she passed away last year was for certain rooms in her house to be open to the public to enjoy into the future.
