The distinctive flavors of Thailand's south return to Tamarind Village Chiang Mai this July and August 2014 with a special menu - ' Southern Flavours' - featuring a selection of home-cooked southern recipes that highlight the very best the region has to offer.
Southern cooking is well known for its spiciness and its combination of local herbs and vegetables which results in delicious dishes that are simple, healthy and wholesome but which pack a flavorful punch. A must-try dish on offer is the Goong Sieb Mamuang Sod, a relish made from dried prawns sourced from Takuapa District in Phang Nga Province and served with shredded sour green mango.
'Southern Flavors' was inspired by traditional dishes on offer at 'Krua Phranang', the Thai restaurant of Rayavadee, Tamarind Village's 5 star sister property located in the southern Thai province of Krabi. For those who won't be heading there this summer season, 'Southern Flavors' offers an authentic taste of the south in the north from now through August 31st.
