Due to the great success of last year’s inaugural Taste Norfolk Island Food Festival, this special culinary event is happening again during Thanksgiving week from 23 – 27 November 2015, serving up a feast of stunning island locations, hearty food and fabulous wines.
The island boasts over 30 eateries, all offering an abundance of locally sourced fresh, organic and wholesome produce. Think fresh fish, local beef, succulent pork and natural fruit and vegetables picked daily. Add to the mix boutique products as Arabica coffee, handmade chocolates, honey, artisan cheese and an award-winning local winery and the island becomes an ideal short-haul getaway for gastronomes.
Taste Norfolk Island is a platform in which everyone can enjoy a special line up of events including an Island Discovery Tour exploring the island’s culture and history. The Indulgence Tour takes visitors to an Arabica Coffee Plantation, local chocolate factory and onto sample some of the island’s handmade sweets and liqueurs.
A ‘pop-up’ kitchen in the heart of town will see some of the Norfolk Island elders giving cooking demonstrations. Furthermore, in the ‘Wild Wetls’ 4 Chefs Dinner, four of the island’s top chefs will cook their signature dishes in the one venue for the enjoyment of everyone.
