Australian Idol has been became one of the great success stories on Australian television over many years, with millions making it the talk of the country especially leading up to and including the Grand Finals.
Now, the Indian Ocean paradise island country of Maldives will introduce a franchised version for Visit Maldives Year 2016 (VMY2016) as it presents ‘Maldives Idol’.
This new show will coincide with the celebration of 50 years of independence for Maldives which promises to be the biggest national event the country’s travel and tourism sectors have experienced.
The Managing Director of Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), Mr. Abdulla Ziyath, announced the unveiling of ‘Maldivian Idol’ during the inaugural Visit Maldives Year Music Festival held in July 2015, which was attended by the President of Maldives, His Excellency Mr Abdulla Yameen; First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim; Vice President, Mr Ahmed Adeeb and other dignitaries.
The Visit Maldives Year 2016 campaign will be a year-long series of global and local events focusing on strengthening and growing Maldivian tourism, targeting 1.5 million tourist visits during 2016.
The VMY2016 will feature a series of special entertainment events, educational and awareness programs, competitions, and attractive prizes carried out by MMPRC in conjunction with the tourism industry.
